December 30,2014

With only one day to go in 2014, I wanted to take the opportunity to look back at the last year and review my most popular blog posts. So I opened up my Google Analytics account and crunched the numbers.

Out of over 100 blog entries I posted this year, here are the 10 that really seemed to strike a chord with my readers!

10. How Eye Contact Can Improve Your Sex Life

I have to admit I was surprised by how much this article took off. I had no idea that eye contact during sex was such a popular topic!

Looking your partner in the eye during sex can be extremely arousing, so it’s worth the vulnerability you might also experience. This could be a great skill to work on in 2015.

9. What Do I Do When Sex Doesn’t Feel Good?

Sexual pain just isn’t discussed frequently enough in the general public. I work with so many women who are suffering from pain and discomfort during sex. They stop wanting to have sex because it’s such a terrible experience, and then they beat themselves up for not having much of a sex drive. It’s a terrible cycle!

I wrote this article hoping to help women realize that there are plenty of options for making sex a more enjoyable experience.

8. Use Lube For Better Sex

I am a huge advocate of lube usage, so I was thrilled to see this post make the list. In it, I shared some of the reasons why lube makes sex so much better (including the fact that it often alleviates pain!), and gave a few ideas for how to incorporate lube into your sex life.

7. How To Have Hotel Sex At Home

Everyone loves vacation sex. In this post, I walked through ideas for recreating the magic of hotel sex when you’re still at home.

6. Why Do I Tense Up When My Partner Approaches Me?

This article was posted this month, but managed to skyrocket into the top 10 in just a few short weeks. So many of my female clients have described having an automatic knee-jerk reaction to being approached by their partners, so this was clearly a topic that resonated for a lot of women.

5. Top 5 Reasons Why Clients Seek Sex Therapy And Coaching

For WomenMenand Couples

Sex therapy is still a relatively unknown field. Just about every person who comes in to see me feels embarrassed about seeking sex therapy. So this felt like a very important series to write.

If you’ve been reading my blog this year, you know it’s my personal mission to make sex therapy feel less intimidating. I want people to understand that help is available, that they’re not alone, and that the process of sex therapy can be a lot of fun.

4. How Do You Know If You’re Sexually Compatible?

Most people want to be sexually compatible with their partners, but they’re not quite sure what that means. We don’t have any great guidelines for sexual compatibility, so most of us don’t know how to judge it. In this article, I discussed exactly what compatibility means and how to get a sense of your level of compatibility with a current or future partner.

3. What’s Your Sex Drive Personality Type?

Part 1 and Part 2.

I had a lot of fun with this series, which outlined ten different personality types. I think it’s very useful to think about what sex means to you, and examine how you express yourself sexually. It’s like an X-rated version of love languages!

2. Want To Know Which Sex Products And Toys I Recommend?

In this article, I shared some of my favorite product recommendations, along with guidelines for choosing great sex toys.

1. The Stop Sabotaging Your Orgasm Challenge

This was the runaway favorite of the entire year. The challenge is closed now, but I was so blown away by the response to this challenge that I decided to launch dedicate a good chunk of 2015 to the topic of female orgasm.
